The territory is located in the Parkland region of Manitoba and adjoins Riding Mountain National Park. As a protected area where hunting, trapping, and logging are prohibited, it is home to over 200 species of birds and 60 types of mammals, including bison, moose, elk, wolves, coyotes, beavers, black bears, and whitetail deer.
