Voyageur Wilderness is a true hidden gem. Michelle was amazingly kind, helpful, and accommodating. This was our first trip here, three in a canoe coming from Toronto, and the experience was wonderful. Plan for a portage before reaching this wilderness paradise on the other side.

This family business is deeply rooted in tradition. I started going to VWP in high school, over 30 years ago. Michelle and her team on the island are knowledgeable and welcoming (calling them kind is an understatement). Their knowledge of the park, lake fishing conditions, and portage conditions guarantees an unforgettable canoeing/kayaking experience. If you are a group looking for an outfitter or a guided trip in Quetico Provincial Park, VWP stands out for its respect of local traditions and old-school feel.

My partner and I stayed in the private cabin on the island in August and it was a wonderful experience. We brought our dog, who loved being able to explore off-leash and swim! We also did a bit of canoeing, even though neither of us was very experienced. It was the perfect break from the city before back-to-school season. Our trip, originally scheduled for June, had to be postponed, but Michelle was incredibly accommodating and I'm so glad we were finally able to go! A big thank you to Michelle and the Savoie family!

At the last minute, I was looking for a canoe trip for my daughter (13) and me. Michelle and the Voyageur team responded quickly and organized the trip of our dreams. Coming from Michigan, we opted for an all-inclusive package with high-quality gear, custom meals, and full guidance. Upon arrival, we had a meal and a bit of rest before packing our gear for departure the next day. Voyageur made sure we completely mastered the equipment and best practices to stay safe and fully enjoy the wilderness. Quetico is a vast area that can be daunting, especially for beginners like us, but Michelle suggested an itinerary tailored to our skill level. Even though we lacked camping and canoeing experience, we felt confident when we launched from this picturesque island, sent off with a friendly wave from Michelle and Dale. Our stay in Quetico was fun, challenging, and rewarding. The equipment provided was top-notch. We are thrilled to have taken part in this exceptional trip with the Voyageur program and hope to return, perhaps even to enjoy another delicious meal prepared by Chef Dale.
