Edit to add: would love to see a Tuna Poké bowl, or tuna tataki and some sushi on the menu! We had a wonderful experience at The Anchor. Lexi was friendly, attentive, and genuinely helped make our visit enjoyable. The cocktails were excellent, the food was good, and the view off the patio is beautiful. What stood out most was how The Anchor strikes a great balance between being an upscale dining experience while still feeling welcoming and comfortable for families. That's not always easy to find, and we really appreciated it. My only suggestions would be to add a baby change table and improve accessibility as there did not appear to be an accessible washroom or elevator. Overall, a great meal, great atmosphere, and great service. We'll definitely be back.

The atmosphere is great for Sylvan Lake. Drinks arrived quickly and the cocktails were good. The food was okay, nothing more. I had the chicken lettuce wraps and the steak frites. I really enjoyed the atmosphere on the rooftop patio! It can accommodate very large groups. Unfortunately, the wraps were not very appetizing and there were barely five lettuce leaves, which was insufficient. The steak frites was okay. One of our guests complained that their steak was overcooked for their taste, and the staff took a long time to fix the issue, but eventually it was ready (the conversation dragged on needlessly). Overall, it's a fairly new restaurant and the staff is new, but it has great potential! The service was excellent, apart from a few small, easily fixable issues. We will definitely go back on our next stay in town, with another large group!

We had an excellent dinner at The Anchor restaurant during our stay in Sylvan Lake. Ideally located with a view of the marina and just steps from the lighthouse, this restaurant is the perfect place to relax and admire the scenery. The tacos were particularly delicious, and every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff was welcoming, helpful, and attentive throughout our meal. The combination of excellent food, impeccable service, and a breathtaking view of the lake made this dinner an unforgettable moment. We will return without hesitation during our next visit to Sylvan Lake.

It was my first visit and, for a restaurant open for only three weeks, I think they are doing a lot of things really well. First of all, the server was excellent, very attentive, and answered all our questions. Three of us were gluten-intolerant, so it was wonderful to have a server who knew the menu and checked certain details with the kitchen. The menu offers many gluten-free (and dairy-free) dishes, and I particularly appreciate that they use local cheese from Sylvan Star and bread from Sans Bakeshop. We also noted that other dishes could be made gluten-free, like the beef dip and the mushroom risotto. The drinks were excellent and the prices reasonable. We shared appetizers (lettuce wraps, braised mushrooms, chicken wings, and mussels). Everything was tasty, with the exception of the chicken wings. We also tried the peanut satay skewers, but they lacked flavor, even though they were well cooked. For main courses, we had the crispy chicken sandwich and the fish and chips (both not gluten-free), as well as the salmon bowl and the minced beef. The feedback from our group was overall positive, but the salmon was just okay and the minced beef was very peppery. We finished with a salted caramel brownie to share, which was really delicious. Overall, it was a great dinner. I'd love to go back in a few months to see the changes, once the restaurant has been open a bit longer.

Arrived at 1:00 p.m. for lunch on a cool, cloudy day. Charming decor, the patio is beautiful even though we didn't eat there. The meal was delicious: we had the charcuterie for two and truffle fries. A real treat with the Sylvan Star cheese! The service was impeccable: just the right amount of personality and attentiveness. We will return without hesitation!
