This ancestral Xeni Gwet'in estate offers renowned wild rainbow trout fishing, fed by underground aquifers. Visitors can enjoy canoeing, kayaking, motorboating, and hiking, while observing wild horses, bears, moose, and eagles. The self-sufficient facility runs on solar power 24/7 and features a main lodge with a games room.
Territory and geography
Nestled at the foot of the Chilcotin Mountains in the Cariboo-Chilcotin region, the lodge is established on the shores of glacial Chaunigan Lake in the Nemaiah Valley. The Xeni Gwet'in traditional territory covers 180,000 hectares of protected wildlife reserve, characterized by pine forests, alpine meadows, and proximity to Chilko Lake. Major ice fields are located just ten miles away. This isolated environment without cell service is spread across a sunny high plateau where the lakes are fed by exceptionally pure underground aquifers.
