Located near Bella Coola, British Columbia, Lower Dean River Lodge is a premier destination specializing in fly fishing for wild steelhead on the Dean River. The lodge is situated less than 20 miles from the salt water; this proximity to the ocean ensures guests can hook into summer steelhead that are exceptionally hard-fighting, bright silver, and fresh from the sea. The lodge's operating season runs from July 1st to October 1st, covering the peak migration period that begins as early as June 20th. weather and water conditions, the area features stable water temperatures around 50°F (10°C) and a low insect presence during the summer season. Originally founded by Rob Stewart and Dick Blewett, the lodge was completely rebuilt following a major flood in 2012. The current structures were hand-built by the Blewett family and their crew, offering modern facilities and full catering services. Managed by Billy and Mandi for the past decade, the establishment boasts a return guest rate of nearly 95%.
