Access to camp is by floatplane from Blanc-Sablon Airport (CYBX), a roughly 20-minute scenic flight. Three ways to reach Blanc-Sablon: (1) private charter flight directly into Blanc-Sablon, then floatplane to camp (within an hour of arrival); (2) fly into Deer Lake airport (Newfoundland) on Friday, then the camp's charter flight Saturday morning to Blanc-Sablon; (3) if weather grounds the charter, a limo service from Deer Lake to the ferry that crosses to Blanc-Sablon (scenic drive through Gros Morne National Park). Changeovers on Saturdays; Friday-night stay at the Deer Lake Motel (at your cost).

The outfitter

The St. Paul's Salmon Fishing Club is an Atlantic salmon camp nestled on the St. Paul's River water system on the Lower North Shore of Quebec. Established in 1964, the club holds exclusive rights to more than 30 miles of wild river and access to 35+ salmon pools. The season runs from early July to mid-September, when the salmon season legally closes in Quebec. Salmon running the St. Paul's River weigh from four pounds (grilse) to more than twenty pounds. Most fishing is done by wading, fly-fishing only (the only method permitted in Quebec), and a canoe with a small

outboard can be arranged. The camp runs a 100% catch-and-release policy (in place since 1999) and a 4-salmon-landed-per-day-per-angler limit. Each guide looks after two anglers. The main lodge, an attractive elevated log building encircled by a walkway, has seven double guest rooms, a dining room and a living room, with hot and cold running water, showers, indoor toilets and electricity; Starlink internet and a satellite phone are available. Access to camp is by floatplane from Blanc-Sablon (a roughly 20-minute scenic flight). The one-week, Saturday-to-Saturday stay includes lodging, all meals, the guide, the fishing license and air transportation from Deer Lake. The club is run by the Letto family.
