By car from Toronto (approx. 3.5 hours), take Highway 400 North to 69 North, then turn onto Highway 64. Follow Highway 528 toward Wolseley Bay to the monitored parking lot at 18 Natures Trail in Noëlville. After calling the lodge when passing the French River Trading Post, a water taxi will pick you up to take you to the island.

Located on an island in the French River, Crane’s Lochaven Wilderness Lodge offers all-inclusive stays just three and a half hours north of Toronto. Accommodations consist of private log cabins with daily housekeeping service. Packages include all meals, a 16-foot boat with a Yamaha motor, fuel, and fishing gear. Target walleye, northern pike, bass, and muskellunge, either independently or with a professional guide. On-site, enjoy hiking, canoeing, kayaking, and a recreation room.
The outfitter is established on Commanda Island (the eastern end of 18-Mile Island) at the junction of the North and Main channels of the French River. The surrounding landscape is characterized by deep shorelines, numerous bays, rocky islands, and pine forests. The territory features six sets of whitewater rapids nearby, including the Chaudière Rapids 16 kilometers away. Being located on an island, the lodge is accessible only by water taxi from the private parking lot in Wolseley Bay.
