The St. Lawrence River borders and surrounds Domaine de l'Île au Canot, located in the heart of the Isle-aux-Grues archipelago. This majestic body of water offers an exceptional island environment, renowned as a prime location for migratory bird hunting. Its tidelands, particularly south-east of the island, serve as a feeding and staging area for thousands of snow geese during their autumn migration. Numerous small bays also shelter various duck species, including black ducks, mallards, and northern pintails. Activities on the river include waterfowl hunting from blinds along the shorelines or tidelands, as well as half-day sport fishing outings planned around the tides aboard a guided boat. At low tide, magnificent sandbanks emerge in the middle of the river, offering exclusive cruise and picnic opportunities. The St. Lawrence River also provides an ideal setting for spring birdwatching, including observing razorbill colonies, as well as boat excursions to the Grosse-Île National Historic Site. Access to the estate is exclusively by boat from the Montmagny dock to the island's floating docks.
