Lake Bachois — L'Aventure de l'Ours Noir Qc.

Bachois Lake is the main body of water at Black Bear Adventures QC outfitter, located in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region, north of the Ashuapmushuan Reserve in Zone 28. Shared between the townships of Mignault and Cazeneuve, this lake is located about 5 km northwest of Cazeneuve Lake and 15 km north of Aigremont Lake and the Chibougamau-Saint-Félicien Road. Its waters flow into Lake Bouteillet and the lake of Petits Rapides to reach the Little River Chief, a tributary of the La Loche River which empties into the Ashuapmushuan River. Fishing boats are available to guests on Bachois Lake, where catches of walleye up to 5 pounds and pike up to 40 inches are common. Historically, the place name was approved by the Geography Commission in 1935 in honor of Pierre-Jean Bachoie (known as Baraute), a captain in the Béarn regiment and Knight of St. Louis.
