Pourvoirie Anna Roy & Fils is located on Isle-aux-Grues, in the heart of a 21-island archipelago flourishing in the St. Lawrence River in the Chaudière-Appalaches region, just downstream from Île d'Orléans. This preserved island territory is characterized by diverse natural environments, including intertidal marshes, high marshes, river flats, and cultivated fields. Vegetation is particularly abundant here, notably due to marshes rich in American Bulrush, an aquatic plant that provides an essential food source for migratory birds during their stopovers.
The site constitutes an exceptional habitat for waterfowl. Every autumn, over 100,000 Greater Snow Geese (also known as white geese) converge

on Isle-aux-Grues and neighboring Île aux Oies, representing approximately 12.6% of the global population of this species. In addition to this high concentration of snow geese in the spring and autumn, the territory hosts several duck species that nest here naturally. Observed species include Mallard, Northern Pintail, Blue-winged and Green-winged Teal, American Black Duck, and Scaup.
The island environment also includes protected areas such as the Jean-Paul-Riopelle Nature Reserve and the Pointe aux Pins sector. This wild natural setting offers expansive panoramas of the St. Lawrence River, the Laurentians, Mont-Sainte-Anne, the Côte-du-Sud, and the surrounding islands, forming a rich biotope for birdwatching and migratory bird hunting.
