The history of Pourvoirie du Lac Blanc began in 1994 and 1995 with the owner's acquisition of 5,000 acres of land belonging to his family. This initial period was marked by the construction of 12 cottages and an inn integrating reception and dining services, leading to the official opening of the site in 1995. As early as 1997, the establishment developed partnerships with travel wholesalers to promote the estate to a European clientele, both in summer and winter. From 2001 to 2003, the outfitter acquired an additional 2,000 acres and carried out major developments: the creation of a sugar shack,
a nature dining site (shore lunch), an Indigenous interpretation site, and several kilometers of multi-functional trails. The inn was then enhanced with three superior rooms, a private lounge, and a second bar, while two bathrooms were added to each cottage. Accommodation development reached a new milestone in 2007 and 2008 with the expansion of the inn, the creation of a hotel reception, and the addition of six country-style rooms. In 2009 and 2010, an indoor aquatic center including a pool, spa, and sauna was built, topped by four guest rooms on the upper floor. Following the modernization of the family cottage in 2011 and the renewal of furniture in 2012, the outfitter continued modernizing its infrastructure in 2019 with a new expansion of the main inn, the addition of three country-style rooms, and a complete renovation of the kitchen.
Pourvoirie du Lac Blanc is located in Saint-Alexis-des-Monts, in the heart of Quebec’s Mauricie region. The estate enjoys a strategic location halfway between Montreal and Quebec City. Set deep within the forest, the site offers a natural and secluded setting on the shores of Lac Blanc. It is accessed via Chemin du Domaine Pellerin in Saint-Alexis-des-Monts. This wooded environment allows guests to fully enjoy the great outdoors throughout the seasons, whether by the water in summer or near the frozen lake during winter.
Pourvoirie du Lac Blanc spans a natural territory of 3,500 hectares in the heart of the Quebec forest, straddling the Mauricie and Lanaudière regions. This wild domain includes 12 preserved lakes, lush flora, and a diverse hydrographic network. The territory's water bodies are home to several aquatic species prized by anglers. Brook trout abound in most lakes, with specimens generally measuring between 10 and 14 inches thanks to regular stocking combined with native trout, while specimens weighing 2 to 4 pounds can be found notably in Lac Théo and Lac Petit Rancho. For its part, Lac Roche specializes in impressive
rainbow trout, offering specimens ranging from 3 to 5 pounds. Lac Blanc hosts northern pike and smallmouth bass fishing, subject to mandatory catch and release. On land, the forest habitat supports varied wildlife. Visitors can observe black bears in their natural environment during guided forest activities. Aquatic and riparian environments, such as those at Lac Loutre, constitute the ecosystem of the beaver, a true forest architect. The territory also hosts small game and fur-bearing animals, which are featured in trapping and snaring demonstrations. Finally, the site hosts pheasant hunting activities during organized tower releases and perpetuates the local legend of the rabbit known as the American Horned Hare.
Pourvoirie du Lac Blanc offers a full range of outdoor activities throughout the seasons. In the summer, sport fishing is practiced by spinning or fly fishing on a dozen lakes, using motorboats with electric motors or pontoons. Water pleasures extend to canoeing, kayaking, pedal boating, and paddleboarding. A developed beach with a volleyball court and modular playground equipment for children allows guests to enjoy the shoreline. Guided excursions include rabaska canoe trips to observe the beaver ecosystem, black bear watching outings, side-by-side (UTV) tours, Tomahawk throwing, and panoramic helicopter flights. Clay pigeon shooting and tower pheasant releases (Roue du Roy
style) are also offered, as are convivial Shore Lunch meals in the forest. During the winter season, the estate becomes a major relay station directly connected to federated snowmobile trails #349 and #350, offering rentals of 600cc and 900cc machines.
