Pourvoirie Mekoos spans an exclusive territory of 322 to 346 square kilometers in the heart of the Laurentian forest, in the Hautes-Laurentides region. This preserved wilderness is home to over 135 lakes and 42 kilometers of exclusive rivers, offering a natural environment of great ecological richness. Rigorous wildlife management is applied to ensure the maintenance of animal populations and the health of the ecosystems. The hydrographic network exclusively hosts native fish species born naturally without any stocking. You will find brook trout (speckled trout) present in 127 lakes with spawning grounds developed to encourage reproduction. Lake trout (grey trout) thrive
in 5 exclusive lakes, while walleye is established in 2 lakes as well as along river stretches. Northern pike also inhabits a dedicated lake and the river sector. In the forest, the territory shelters diverse land-based wildlife. Large mammals such as moose, black bear, and white-tailed deer find suitable habitats here, with the region notably hosting a major deer wintering area. The outfitter also welcomes small game such as ruffed grouse, spruce grouse, and snowshoe hare. Nous avons déjà fait plusieurs pourvoiries au Québec mais nous n'avons jamais été accueillis comme cela. Isabelle et Sébastien sont très chaleureux et aux petits soins pour leurs hôtes tout au long de leur séjour. Les activités sont top. Un grand merci à nos guides : Myriam pour le traineau à chiens, Sébastien pour la motoneige qui nous ont fait découvrir les magnifiques paysages enneigés des Laurentides et nous ont raconté de multiples anecdotes sur leur métier et le Québec. Les lieux sont confortables et cosy. Toute l'équipe est là pour vous faire passer les meilleurs moments. Nous n'avons qu'une hâte, planifier notre prochain séjour.

Séjour découverte +++ Nous avons passé un week-end merveilleux! L’accueil chaleureux, la nourriture copieuse et savoureuse, l’auberge calme et confortable, le domaine impressionnant et reposant. Nous avons fait du côte à côté une matinée et nous sommes senti presque seul sur les chemins, du canoë sur un des nombreux lacs. Nous avons tenté d’observer les ours en fin de journée mais ils ne se sont pas montrés. Nous avons également fait une randonnée pour monter voir un joli point de vue. Le personnel est chaleureux, convivial et très arrangeant. On se sent très à l’aise. Même si on ne chasse pas et si on ne pêche pas, le lieu permet d’autres activités. Je recommande vivement cet endroit pour s’évader et décompresser!

Un grand merci à Isabelle et Sébastien pour leur accueil chaleureux. Pour notre premier voyage au Québec, ils ont mis la barre très haute. Nous tenons ici à remercier et féliciter chacun des membres de leur équipe pour leur gentillesse, leur disponibilité et leur professionnalisme. Nous étions 4 jours à la pourvoirie et pouvons témoigner d’un hébergement propre, spacieux bien équipé et idéalement positionné au bord du lac. Nos guides William, pour la sortie raquettes et pêche blanche, Myriam pour la sortie à chiens de traîneau et Christian pour la sortie à moto neige resteront dans nos mémoires: de belles personnes avec lesquelles nous avons eu de beaux échanges. Pour finir, un mot de la cuisine. Du petit déjeuner au souper en passant par le dîner les plats sont variés, goûteux, généreux et le service de qualité. Le personnel est à votre écoute et toujours de bonne humeur. Nous recommandons vivement la pourvoirie du Mekoos. Nous y reviendrons! Merci pour cette parenthèse hors du temps. Bénédicte & Philippe
