Operated by Gary and Lori Rowsell since 2016, Sandy Lake Lodge is located on the shores of Sandy Lake in the heart of central Newfoundland. The establishment offers big game hunting trips targeting Eastern Canadian moose and black bear in Zone 16. The hunting season runs from the second week of September to the last week of October. Stays are structured around five-day spot-and-stalk or calling packages during the rutting season, with archery departures also available starting in early September. provided by a network of old logging roads, combined with the use of 8x8 Argo vehicles and motorized boats. Packages include guide services (typically two hunters per guide, with a 1-on-1 option), licenses, lodging, meals, and transfers. The main lodge offers clean and comfortable rooms featuring two twin beds with linens provided. Facilities include generator-powered electricity, amplified cellular reception, satellite TV, bathrooms with hot water and showers, and laundry service. Home-cooked meals are prepared daily and include a hot breakfast, snacks, and dinner. External butchery and meat shipping services to Canada and the United States are also available. During the spring and summer, the outfitter offers ATV tours, cycling, and fishing trips.
