I've done a few fly-in fishing trips with Joel and his team at Air Ivanhoe – I have nothing but praise for this company. Super professional and knowledgeable, they have years of experience. I stayed at Pine Cabin and North/South Bonar, and I highly recommend both. Don't forget your worms!

Great fishing. The staff is very helpful and gives great advice to make your stay a success. Our pilots were exceptional: smooth landings and takeoffs. This outfitter had Wi-Fi and a TV on site, as well as a generator for lighting and medical devices.

We had an amazing stay at Sherlock Lake. We also spent a night at the lodge. Everyone was lovely and helpful, even the fish! It was an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend Air Ivanhoe.

Well folks, I've read enough reviews and feel compelled to give my input on Air Ivanhoe! Our group has been going there since 1999, coming from North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Ohio. Before that, we used 3 or 4 other outfitters. We've done 25 trips with Air Ivanhoe and fished about 40 lakes and rivers. Hard to beat for the price... really! We've only returned to the same lake once because we love new adventures, and when we were younger, we used to hike with our float tubes and fins from our main lake to go fish where nobody else dares to venture, just for fun. As for the staff, they are simply awesome! Jeanne is sweet. Joel works his butt off to keep everything running. George is always ready to help out, but expect a little sarcasm, don't sweat it! If you want to chat with him, the best time is after his morning coffee and his evening glass of wine, I'm telling you! The dock guys and the pilots are always helpful and friendly. Yes, fly-in days can be hectic with all the logistics to manage and weather uncertainties, it's inevitable, so be patient and appreciate the efforts being made for you! George and Joel are top-notch pilots. Consequently, the service is EXCELLENT! The Lodge is beautiful and undoubtedly offers the best accommodations; it's a nice place to spend the night before flying out. The quality of the outpost cabins varies, with some certainly being nicer than others, but we mainly go there for the fishing, scenery, wildlife, and peace and quiet! We only need the bare minimum, but we agree that departing groups could do a better job cleaning up. We sometimes spend the first two hours cleaning, especially at The Chutes where the pilots can't check the condition of the cabin. I recommend requiring a cabin cleaning deposit, otherwise the refund is forfeited. There are always plenty of Yamaha motors available in case of an issue. It's interesting to see the comments about fishing productivity, because some reviews report great experiences on lakes where we didn't have good catches in terms of numbers, species, and sizes, while others report poor fishing on lakes where our fishing was fantastic. This means that all lakes are productive and that weather and fishing techniques have a big influence; some days/weeks are better than others, that's fishing. An essential tool is a fish finder: indispensable for knowing depths and drop-offs. The backcountry in this area is beautiful, with many remote lakes to choose from. The fishing is great thanks to lake rotation and/or simply the isolation and low fishing pressure... that's why we fly in! I don't mind paying overweight baggage fees, aviation fuel is expensive... and since it's my vacation, I want what I want, when I want it... that's what I tell George! We're heading to a new lake in a few weeks; my annual calendar starts and ends with my trip with Air Ivanhoe! TRUE – In 2021, I brought my best friend, who isn't really into fishing but went along to spend time together. At one point, we caught 90 pike in 3 hours.
