Eight Years of Fishing at Horwood Lake Lodge I have been fishing at Horwood Lake Lodge and participating in the Canadian Fishing Network (CFN) fishing retreat for eight years now. Year after year, my experience confirms that Horwood Lake offers some of the best walleye fishing I have ever known. Anglers regularly catch walleyes around 75 cm, along with plenty of smaller specimens that are perfect for eating. To me, that is a great indicator of a healthy and abundant walleye population. If you are looking for northern pike, Horwood Lake will not disappoint. My personal best is 100 cm, along with another impressive 86 cm fish, and there are plenty of pike around 75 cm to keep you busy. Bass fishing is also very enjoyable, with an abundance of fish to keep anglers entertained all day long. But there is something else everyone seems to talk about when they get back to the lodge: the incredible food. The daily meals served are exceptional, and after a full day on the water, there is nothing like a great meal. After eight years of fishing Horwood Lake and attending the CFN Retreat, I can confidently state that Horwood Lake Lodge offers everything an angler could desire: excellent walleye, big pike, thrilling bass fishing, fine food, and an experience that makes you want to come back year after year. In my opinion, Horwood Lake Lodge is a must-visit fishing destination for any angler.

I took my two boys for a father-son getaway and we couldn't have dreamed of anything better. We aren't really anglers, but we had a great time on the lake, bonding and fishing. The fishing was excellent, even for amateurs like us. Doris and Warren were wonderful: invaluable fishing tips, delicious food, and a warm welcome. The lodge is just right: a bit rustic, but clean and comfortable. A big thank you to Doris and Warren for these unforgettable memories!

We spent a wonderful week at Horwood Lake Lodge. The fishing was fantastic, the food absolutely delicious (Doris is an outstanding cook), Warren generously shared his fishing knowledge and expert advice, and Jen and the rest of the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The boats were in perfect working order and the tackle shop was well-stocked. We definitely plan to return and I recommend Horwood Lake Lodge without hesitation (and I highly recommend getting the meal plan!). Thank you for an incredible week!
