The history of Andrew Lake Lodge & Camps is closely tied to its owner and pilot, Dan Wettlaufer, who grew up in the tourism and outfitting industry working alongside his family. From a very young age, he spent his summers at the lodge, gaining the experience necessary to operate facilities in remote wilderness settings. Over the years, operations expanded with the acquisition and development of Lynx Tundra Lodge, located at the tree line in the Northwest Territories. The territory occupies the far northeast of Alberta, bordering Saskatchewan and the Northwest Territories, near Wood Buffalo National Park. This is the only region in Alberta located on the Canadian Shield. The landscape combines Precambrian granite rock outcrops and over 100 clear-water lakes. The Lynx Lake camp is located 400 km further north, at the edge of the tundra. With no roads, this 5,000-square-mile wilderness area is accessible exclusively by floatplane.

The managed territory covers over 5,000 square miles in extreme northeastern Alberta, bordering the Northwest Territories, Saskatchewan, and Wood Buffalo National Park. The outfitter offers adventure stays accessible exclusively by plane, with charter departures by floatplane or wheel-plane from Fort Smith, Fort McMurray, Edmonton, and Yellowknife. Sport fishing is one of the primary activities from late May to early October. Anglers target lake trout, northern pike, walleye, Arctic grayling, and lake whitefish on Andrew, South Leland, and Lynx lakes. Boating equipment includes unlimited use of 14 to 16-foot aluminum boats with 9.9 to 25 HP outboard motors, fuel, life jackets, and landing nets. Sonar and downrigger rentals are available.
