The outfitter

Located on the shores of Gowganda Lake, Auld Reekie Lodge is a four-season resort managed by Urs and Diane Brunner. The site features comfortable, fully-equipped cabins and a main lodge with a dining room serving home-cooked meals. For fishing, target walleye, northern pike, bass, and trout on remote wilderness lakes. Autumn is ideal for black bear and grouse hunting, while ATVing, snowmobiling, the beach, and the sauna offer relaxation and outdoor adventure.

Territory and geography

Established on the shores of Gowganda Lake in a remote wilderness region of Northern Ontario, the territory features a varied landscape of hills, valleys, and old-growth forest stands. This natural environment is crisscrossed by numerous backcountry lakes, rivers, and streams. The area is traversed by a vast network of old logging roads and ATV/snowmobile trails, including the A107C trail.
