Its story
Founded by Glenn Legrand, a native of Paspébiac in the Gaspé Peninsula, Camp Bonaventure is rooted in a deep family tradition centered on fly fishing. After being introduced to the sport at a young age by his father and guided by the passion passed down from his great-grandfather (who oversaw the Grand River for over forty years), Glenn began his career as an Atlantic salmon fishing guide on the Bonaventure, Grand Cascapedia, and Little Cascapedia rivers. to life in 1993 with the support of passionate partners from Nova Scotia (Mike Crosby, Jim Lawley, and Greg Burk, members of the Atlantic Salmon Federation). They acquired a secluded tract of land near the Bonaventure River and built the main lodge, welcoming its first anglers for the opening of the 1995 season. A few years later, Dan Greenberg of Ottawa joined the group as a co-owner. Over the decades, Camp Bonaventure expanded to form the 3Camps network, integrating the legendary Salmon Lodge on the Grand Cascapedia (a historic site founded in 1901-1902) as well as Le Club on the Bonaventure (a former century-old private club founded in 1917 by John Hall Kelly). Focused on resource conservation and catch-and-release practices, the outfitter offers an unparalleled Atlantic salmon and striped bass fishing experience on three of Quebec’s most beautiful salmon rivers.

It is situated in the immediate vicinity of the Bonaventure airport, making travel very convenient. The destination provides access to three wild rivers renowned for Atlantic salmon fishing, including the Bonaventure River and the Grand Cascapedia River. The primary activity is wild Atlantic salmon fly fishing on the Bonaventure, Grand Cascapedia, and Little Cascapedia rivers. Depending on hydrological conditions and the time of season, anglers practice wade fishing or fish from traditional 26-foot river canoes, with a particularly dynamic dry fly and sight fishing season in July and August.
