Domaine Chasse & Pêche Gaudias Foster is a family outfitter on lac Port-aux-Quilles, in Saint-Siméon in Charlevoix-Est, run by the Foster family since 1964. On a 35 km² exclusive-rights territory (zone 27 east), you fish for brook trout (speckled trout, native or stocked) and Quebec red trout / native Arctic char across 15 bodies of water, with 55 fiberglass and aluminum boats, electric-motor rentals and on-site licence issuance. The history of the territory dates back to the era of logging and log driving on Lac Port-aux-Quilles, where the piles of timber gathered there resembled bowling pins. The logging carried out by Mr. Arsène Bilodeau, the first owner in the area, gave rise to the estate. The outfitting operation was later acquired by a second couple of owners, François and Julie Tremblay. In 1964, Gaudias Foster realized his dream by purchasing the territory for approximately $10,000.
