People come first for the native brook trout: five lakes hold them naturally, five of the nine lakes are stocked every year with thousands of 9- to 13-inch trout, and Lac Florent, home to nothing but big brookies, is fished guided. The place cultivates quiet — no outdoor music, no ATVs, no generators, and the wifi stays at the reception building — for the fullest possible contact with nature. Around

Lodging is in 7 comfortable lakeside cabins sleeping 2 to 12, each with a private dock, boats, BBQ, outdoor fire pit and firewood provided. In the fall the outfitter also runs a small-party moose hunt on an exclusive 5 km² sector around three lakes. Every guest is covered by AIRMEDIC, the helicopter emergency medical service.

C'est une expérience cinq étoiles, surtout si vous n'êtes pas une citadine habituée au wifi et à internet 24h/24 et 7j/7. Les hôtes sont très accueillants et chaleureux. La région est magnifique et peu d'insectes (cette année). N'oubliez pas : du papier toilette, des condiments, du lait pour le café et une batterie chargée pour recharger votre téléphone et prendre des photos. Vous profiterez d'un bateau, de sept immenses lacs, de matériel de pêche et de sports nautiques, de bois de chauffage, d'un barbecue à gaz, d'animaux sauvages sur les sentiers et parfois même de poissons. L'observation des baleines est possible à quelques minutes en voiture si vous souhaitez changer d'air.

Superbe domaine au milieu des bois. Le silence! (Brisé seulement par le bruit des moteurs durant la journée) Belles embarcations, matériel de qualité en location, conseils sur la meilleure façon de prendre les truites fin septembre, beaux chalets bien équipés. Je n'ai pas de talent pour la pêche mais l'accueil chaleureux de Robbie donne le goût d'y retourner. Attentif à ses clients, il a été bien au-delà de ce qu'on pouvait attendre, allant jusqu'à s'inquiéter de ne pas nous voir revenir le midi. On avait juste décidé de pêcher plus longtemps...
