Domaine Sportif du Lac Loup is one of the Essipit exclusive-rights outfitters, located on ancestral Innu natural territory on the Côte-Nord. This grand setting offers hunting and fishing trips in the heart of preserved wilderness. You will discover cold, high-altitude lakes teeming with native brook trout, while enjoying an extended fishing season through July and August. The territory also offers moose and black bear hunting. The history of the Essipit territory dates back more than 10,000 years, a time when Innu ancestors traveled across Nitassinan (the Escoumins River region) to hunt, fish, and gather according to the rhythm of the seasons. In 1892, the Essipiunnuat reserve ("the Innu of the shell river") was officially created by the Canadian government. The word "Innu," which means "human being," affirms the community's identity and ancestral values. Over the decades, the lifestyle became more sedentary, particularly with the arrival of settlers and the development of the forestry industry. Located north of Les Escoumins on the Innu territory of Essipit, the outfitter is part of a wild domain spanning over 420 km². The sector includes more than 125 high-altitude natural lakes, where the water remains cool throughout the summer. This elevated terrain promotes excellent fishing conditions. Access to the domain is by car via a forest road requiring a right-of-way permit. Once on-site, movement between the various lakes and trails is easy by vehicle, ATV, or on foot, allowing for full exploration of this preserved forest environment.

This wild territory of over 420 km² encompasses more than 125 natural lakes. The boreal environment consists of high-altitude lakes with cool waters, streams, and forested terrain that support the survival of native species. Aquatic wildlife is primarily represented by brook trout (wild, non-stocked native speckled trout), which are abundant throughout the estate's various water bodies. Terrestrial wildlife includes the iconic big game of the boreal forest, notably moose and black bear, roaming in their natural habitat.

Domaine Sportif du Lac Loup offers a range of activities focused on fishing, hunting, hiking, and outdoor sports. The establishment features 9 cottages with private docks providing direct access to the lake. The site is renowned as a prime location for ATVs and quads, thanks to the territory's network of forest trails. Sport fishing for speckled trout is done in 14-foot aluminum boats, using oars or motors. On-site, anglers will find weighing equipment and fish cleaning facilities. Moose hunting trips are also organized during the season. Visitors can also enjoy hiking, canoeing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), swimming in the lakes,
