The outfitter
Located in Kapuskasing, in the Cochrane District at the heart of Northern Ontario, KapRiver Outfitters offers guided and semi-guided hunting and fishing expeditions. The operation is led by local guide Danick Sylvain, who brings over ten years of field experience. Regarding hunting, the outfitter organizes stays tailored to different seasons and species: - Fall black bear hunting (August 15 to November 30), offered as a semi-guided package using pre-established stands. Optional game preparation and skinning services are available. - Fall waterfowl and grouse hunting (September to November), fully guided, targeting ducks, geese, ruffed grouse, and spruce grouse. For fishing, outings take place on the Kapuskasing River and target walleye, northern pike, smallmouth bass, lake whitefish, and yellow perch. Standard fishing equipment, such as rods and reels, is provided on board. Hunting packages include lodge accommodation for the duration of the stay, while meals are the responsibility of the participants. Each client must obtain the mandatory hunting or fishing licenses and tags.
