Je reviens tout juste d'Onaman River Resort où j'ai passé six jours à pêcher avec sept amis. Je n'écris généralement pas d'avis, mais ce séjour m'a tenu à le faire. Nous avons passé un séjour absolument merveilleux à Onaman River Resort. La pêche était tout simplement incroyable. Nous ciblons le brochet et aimons aussi pêcher le doré jaune, et Onaman River Resort a été à la hauteur de nos attentes. Le plus difficile a été de trouver des dorés jaunes de moins de 45 cm. Contrairement à certains commentaires que j'avais lus avant mon arrivée, Robert et son père ont été absolument formidables. J'ai déjà réservé pour l'année prochaine et j'ai hâte d'y retourner. Nous avons séjourné dans le chalet n° 1, qui peut accueillir 8 personnes. Comme Robert me l'avait indiqué avant la réservation, il était rustique mais offrait tout le confort nécessaire pour un séjour de pêche. L'eau chaude et froide était abondante et potable. Il y avait une douche avec une bonne pression et des toilettes. Tous les ustensiles de cuisine étaient fournis, ainsi qu'une cuisinière à gaz et un grand réfrigérateur. Une prise électrique se trouvait dans la cuisine et une autre dans la salle de bain. Nous n'avons jamais eu de problème d'électricité. J'avais emporté un petit générateur, comme conseillé par d'autres avis, mais je ne l'ai pas utilisé. Un barbecue à gaz est également disponible à l'extérieur. Il faut apporter sa literie, ses serviettes et ses gants de toilette. Les provisions, y compris le liquide vaisselle et le papier toilette, sont à prévoir. Deux grands congélateurs coffres sont situés non loin de la réception pour congeler le poisson ou faire des glaçons. Je recommande d'apporter un aspirateur. Utilisez une machine sous vide pour congeler votre poisson si vous comptez en emporter. Veillez à le congeler à plat, en laissant un peu de peau, afin que le Ministère puisse compter les filets et identifier l'espèce. Inscrivez votre nom, l'espèce et le numéro de votre cabine sur l'emballage. Il y a de fortes chances que le Ministère effectue un contrôle. Je n'ai pas visité les autres cabines, mais d'après ce que j'ai vu, toutes, sauf la cabine n° 1, ont été rénovées et sont très belles. Au final, nous avons passé un séjour absolument merveilleux à l'Onaman River Resort. La pêche était fantastique, l'hébergement était parfait et Robert, le propriétaire, était très agréable et facile à contacter. J'ai hâte d'y retourner.

Nous revenons tout juste d'un séjour au lac Onaman avec Onaman River Resort. Robert a un équipement exceptionnel. Il a répondu à tous nos besoins et nous avons fait une pêche miraculeuse de dorés jaunes. J'ai pêché avec de nombreux pourvoyeurs au fil des ans, et je recommande vivement Onaman River Resort.

I have stayed at Onaman River Resort probably 5 or 6 times. Love the place. I would call it a true fishing camp. Remote, comfortable, clean. We go for the Brook Trout and Lake Trout mainly but enjoy good numbers of walleye (our largest has been just under 30" but have seen larger caught.) and Northern Pike 40"+. We get along great with Robert (owner) and have him over for dinner every time we are staying there. You honestly have a change to catch a personal best in 4 species - Lake Trout, Brook Trout, Northern Pike and Walleye. Camp is remote. Don't expect the resort to have much for supplies - that means bring extra gas too. Lake is huge - big water. Windy days can keep you off the big lake but there are usually bays you can fish or other nearby lakes to trailer your boat. Robert has boats in Onaman Lake you can walk in to. Great walleye lake.

Spent six days here. I had a fantastic time fishing all day, and socializing with family, other guest, and owner Robert. Cabins were simple, but very nice. I definitely will come back again. The owner, Robert was great! He provided lots of good advice, and shared many stories about camp. I found funniest stories being about people arriving, who came ill prepared, with unrealistic expectations, and unable to disconnect from using technogy for accessing Internet. Here is some advice: First, the Onaman River Resort is remote fishing/hunting camp. Be grateful that you even have electricity. Second, You need to carry in all your food, clothing, toiletries, and gear you will need yourself. Nearest town is 1.5 hours away. So if you forget something you need, you are to blame, for failing to plan properly. Be respectful, fair, and honest with owner and other guest. Also, remember you are in a foreign country, so bring enough Canadian Currency to pay. I have lived and traveled all around the world, and it is embarrassing seeing or coming behind the ignorant "Ugly American", with entidalment attitude, to try prepare the damage they have caused to reputation of U.S.A. It is shameful to see everytime I meet foreigners with similar stories. I recommend visiting Onaman River Resort, but please come prepared, and remember this is a remote fishing camp. And enjoy the fishing and reconnecting with nature.
