We stayed at Smoothrock in September. Tom and his team are wonderful and the fishing is exceptional. An older member of our group took ill and the Thunderhook team handled the situation with great professionalism, arranging a medevac flight for him in record time. I highly recommend bringing a fish finder with GPS to locate fish and navigate this very large lake.

I have been coming here regularly since 1990. The facilities and equipment have improved and modernized every time. What started out as a rustic fishing camp has become a full-service campsite. As I get older, I appreciate these changes even more! The fishing is excellent and the landscape is a true masterpiece of nature. The lake is huge and, thanks to low traffic, you can spend the day there without running into another boat. The staff was particularly welcoming and helpful during this stay. I will return and I highly recommend this experience.

There were eight of us fishing at Smooth Rock, in Almos Bay, from June 9 to 15, 2023. We had a great stay: many walleye over 50 cm and several large northern pike around 90 cm, including a few over 100 cm. The dock crew is wonderful, very helpful and gives great advice. We will be back next year at the same time for another great fishing trip. Thanks to Barry and his team for a great trip.

Thunderhook is a world-class, five-star fishing operation. This outfitter was highly recommended to us by friends, and we were not disappointed. Barry and his team put the customer first, which is rare these days. It was very much appreciated and made the trip even more memorable. Barry had contacted us months before departure, which allowed for flawless organization. These guys are passionate about fishing and very friendly, always ready to chat. The fishing was simply incredible! We went to Keezhik in mid-August 2021 and the walleye were biting like crazy, just like the brook trout. I won't go into detail about the brook trout, as it's a sensitive topic that I'll leave for you to discover for yourselves. The Keezhik walleye measured between 40 and 65 cm and the pike between 55 and 100 cm. There are so many pike in this lake that I'd almost hesitate to go swimming. Gators everywhere! The pike were delicious and made a great addition to our fish fry. The Keezhik camp had everything we needed and its location on the lake was ideal for accessing our best fishing spots. Lake Keezhik is a true angler's paradise, a lasting memory for my brothers, my friends, and me. Thunderhook has nothing to envy other camps in Northern Ontario! Thanks Barry and the whole team!
