The operating area extends along the west coast of Vancouver Island around Tofino. It encompasses the scenic and protected inland waters of Clayoquot Sound, lined with inlets, as well as the offshore zones of the Pacific Ocean. The marine topography varies from sheltered bays to the deep canyons of the continental shelf, where fishing reaches depths of 500 to 700 feet. In summer, warm water currents move into the southwest canyons. Access to fishing sites is by boat from Tofino. This environment is home to frequently spotted wildlife, including whales, dolphins, and sea otters.
