On the edge of the La Vérendrye Wildlife Reserve, Pavillon La Vérendrye is an exclusive-rights outfitter covering 150 km², with 23 hunting territories, many lakes and the Coulonge River. Black bear hunting, from May 15 to June 30, is the house specialty: several sectors are baited regularly across a vast territory west of the lodge, reachable by numerous trails. Alongside it come moose hunting on exclusive territory, small-game hunting with or without dogs — spruce grouse, ruffed grouse and hare — and walleye and pike fishing on lakes easily reached by road, where several boats are available. 8 hunting-and-fishing cabins fitted with an indoor toilet, a hot-water shower, a wood stove, a fridge, a propane range and a 'fish house' for filleting your catch away from the mosquitoes; rooms are also available at the main lodge, which has a bar with a big screen. In winter the outfitter serves as a snowmobile relay with gas service and dining-room lunches.
