The landscape is characterized by the Opasquia Moraine, the Cocos Plateau, and numerous lakes, rapids, and waterfalls on the Sagawitchewan River. The forest consists of spruce, poplar, larch, birch, and jack pine. This highly isolated environment, accessible only by floatplane with no road access, is home to diverse wildlife including wolverines, bears, moose, and bald eagles.
