Pourvoirie du Lac Croche, located in Saint-Côme in the Lanaudière region, spans an exclusive-rights territory of 13.5 square kilometers featuring 11 lakes. The aquatic and forest environments are home to several salmonid species and game spread across the estate's various water bodies and sectors. Regarding fishing, the hydrographic network offers diverse habitats depending on the species. Lac Croche and Lac Canard are home to brook trout. Lac Rivest contains rainbow trout, while Lac Beaulieu holds lake trout (touladi) and splake. Other water bodies dot the territory, including Lac Castor in the mountains, Lac Petit Castor, and Lac Grand Castor. Catch
and release is strictly prohibited on all lakes. For hunting activities, the estate is located in hunting zone 15 East. The forests and natural environments host big game such as moose, with a limit of one moose per group, as well as black bear. The outfitter also supports small game populations including ruffed grouse, spruce grouse, partridge, and snowshoe hare. Regulations impose a quota of five catches per permit per day for small game, with a maximum possession limit of fifteen specimens upon departure for stays of at least three days. Wildlife observation on the territory also offers chances to encounter avian fauna including ducks, loons, and bald eagles.
Pourvoirie du Lac Croche offers a full range of fishing, hunting, and outdoor activities throughout the seasons. Fishing takes place during the summer season from early May to late October. Anglers have access to 14-foot flat-bottomed fiberglass boats with oars, with the option to use electric motors and batteries. During the winter season, from December to March, ice fishing takes over. Equipment including tip-ups, hole drilling, and access to fishing huts or the inn are provided. A reception desk offers the sale of permits, worms, fishing tackle, ice, and refreshments. For vacationers, the outfitter provides paddleboards and kayaks on the
lake. The site offers spaces for hiking connecting to the nearby Sentier National, photography, and wildlife and flora observation. In winter, visitors enjoy snowshoeing and backcountry cross-country skiing. Nous avons adoré notre séjour avec 4 ados et notre chien! Le chalet était vraiment bien, positionné directement sur le bord du lac avec notre quai privé. Les lits étaient confortables. Tout est propre et l'équipement nécessaire est fourni sur place (BBQ et accessoires de cuisine). Nous avons fait une belle pêche. Il faut parfois être patient, car ce ne sont pas toutes les heures de la journée qui sont bonnes, mais lorsqu'on a trouvé le bon endroit et le bon moment, nous avons pêché plusieurs poissons dans la même heure. Il ne faut pas hésiter à demander aux autres pêcheurs où ils ont pêché leurs poissons. En 2,5 jours de pêche, nous avons pêché près de 50 truites mouchetées. L'ami de mon fils en a échappé une qui devait faire près de 20 pouces. C'était notre 2e fois à cet endroit (nous étions venus il y a 4 ans) et nous reviendrons certainement. Cette pourvoirie n'est pas trop loin, l'expérience relaxante, dépaysante et positive.
