The route uses forest roads and cellular coverage does not reach the whole way; Parent is the last service locality on the road. Floatplane arrival is possible: the outfitter has what is needed to receive floatplanes (lat. 48º24'24, long. 75º05'53) and can put you in touch with air carriers, for an additional fee.

La Pointe aux Dorés sits on a peninsula fringed by a sandy beach, in the south bay of the Gouin Reservoir — the former Lac Bureau. This 1,789 km² body of water, more than 100 km by 60 km, is the jewel of the Haute-Mauricie and one of Quebec's most celebrated spots for walleye and northern pike fishing. The outfitter puts a fleet of 32 sixteen-foot boats with 15 to 20 HP motors at your disposal, and suggests more than 25 fishing spots close to the main site; the more adventurous roam the south, north and east bays. in fully equipped rustic chalets sleeping 2 to 12 people: wood heating, electricity around the clock, hot and cold running water, a full kitchen, a bathroom and a view over the lake and the sunsets. The chalets are linked by walking trails where you will come across ruffed grouse, loons, herons, hares and eagles, amid northern Quebec flora: Labrador tea, blueberries, lady's slipper orchids. The arrival is part of the trip: you cross the bay by barge from the parking area before the team walks you to your chalet, where your boat is already waiting. Self-catering fishing stays on the European plan, from mid-May through September. The outfitter has belonged to Nicolas Bédard since 2022, and its chalets are being renovated one by one.

Nous revenons d’un très beau séjour en famille à la pourvoirie pointe aux dorés. Un accueil personnalisé et chaleureux nous y attendaient. En surplus, une belle qualité de pêche avec des conseils judicieux. Un grand merci à Nicolas, Julie et Stéphane. On se dit à l’an prochain.

Super séjour ! Installations agréables, il ne manque de rien, équipements bien entretenus, le personnel est souriant et agréable et le propriétaire, Nicolas Bédard, est tout simplement super ! Super service à l auberge. Chambre très confortable, spacieuse . Un dépanneur avec une sélection de produits impressionnante pour accommoder tout les campeurs! Location de bonnes chaloupe pour pêcher sur le réservoir baskatong. Doré et brochet coregone aussi . J aime bien cette pourvoirie !
