Good to know
Set on the Gouin Reservoir at the mouth of Baie de l'Est and Baie du Nord, Pourvoirie Némio is renowned for its walleye and trophy northern pike fishing on one of Quebec's largest bodies of water — roughly 60 km by 100 km of bays, channels and lake-widenings where walleye abound along rocky shorelines and sand bars, and where some of the biggest pike in North America roam. The Nemio River, which feeds the reservoir, is a secluded 14 km walleye spawning area just ten minutes away by boat. The territory, virgin timber reachable by logging road or float plane,
also offers moose hunting (island shooting stands, transport to the stands and game retrieval), guided black-bear hunting over more than twenty baited sites, small-game hunting along miles of private roads, plus snowmobiling and ice fishing in winter. Lodging is in comfortable 3-star cabins, fully equipped: propane stove, electric fridge and freezer, 24/7 solar electricity, running water, interior washroom, shower, woodstove and kitchen utensils. The site includes a full-service dining room, gasoline, oil, ice, a fish-cleaning station with running water at the docks, WiFi and a satellite communication system. Docks and pathways are lit and the site is monitored day and night.
