vast body of water ideal for catching walleye, northern pike, lake trout, smallmouth bass, and yellow perch. To preserve the quality of the aquatic wildlife, the outfitter enforces size limits and catch-and-release regulations. Stays also include access to several surrounding wilderness lakes for day trips, and guide service is available with prior reservation. A weekly catch-and-release fishing tournament is held every Wednesday, followed by a community dinner hosted by the lodge. For hunting, Route Lake Lodge operates four Black Bear Management Areas (BMAs). Hunting trips run from Saturday to Saturday and accommodate a maximum of six hunters per week. Stands, consisting of wooden towers or 12 to 18-foot ladder stands (as well as ground blinds upon request), are pre-baited and located between 20 and 30 yards from bait sites. Access to hunting sites is by boat or land. Packages include self-catering accommodation, a boat with motor and fuel, as well as game freezing services.
