The outfitter
Located in Northwestern Ontario, northwest of Dryden and northeast of Vermilion Bay, Rugby Lake Lodge is a year-round, family-run resort set on the south shore of Rugby Lake. This sheltered 2,440-acre body of water, with an average depth of 11 feet and a maximum of 25 feet, offers fishing accessible to the whole family. Anglers primarily target walleye, northern pike, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, and crappie, not to mention ice fishing for walleye during the winter season. The outfitter also maintains boats on secluded backcountry lakes, one of which is home to lake trout. Just steps from the camp, a

short trail leads to a waterfall where Rugby Lake empties into Pelican Creek. For guided hunting, the outfitter offers packages for black bear, whitetail deer, and moose. The lodge is located directly in the heart of a Black Bear Management Area (BMA) equipped with baited stands. The Eton/Rugby and Dryden area is renowned for its large whitetail deer with massive racks, while moose hunting takes place in Wildlife Management Unit (WMU) 8 and near WMU 5. Accommodations include winterized "Lakeview Cottage Units," fully equipped for self-catering stays. Facilities feature covered decks with BBQs and campfire pits. In addition to hunting and fishing, guests can enjoy water activities such as canoeing, paddleboarding, and swimming, as well as hiking trails and direct access to hundreds of miles of ATV and snowmobile trails.
