The outfitter
Separation Lake Lodge is a heritage fishing camp located on the English River, north of Kenora in Northwestern Ontario, welcoming enthusiasts since the late 1940s. Now operated by Chris and Amber, who also own Halley’s camps, the site is part of a pristine sector stretching over 40 miles of river with no other neighboring outfitters. The territory is renowned for the quality of its walleye, northern pike, and smallmouth bass fishing. To navigate the waters, guests are provided with 16-foot Crestliner boats equipped with recent Yamaha four-stroke engines and depth sounders. Upon arrival, the on-site team provides an equipment orientation

and a lake map identifying the best fishing spots. Bait is also available for purchase on-site. Regarding accommodations, the outfitter offers cozy cabins featuring running water, showers, flush toilets, heating, bedding, and towels. Each unit includes a refrigerator, stove, outdoor BBQ, and a fish cooker. Wi-Fi is accessible at the general store and nearby areas. In addition to fishing, the establishment organizes black bear hunting trips in the spring (mid-May to May 22) and fall (August 25 to September 10). Lasting five full days, these trips take place in remote wilderness areas accessible only by boat, featuring stands and bait sites prepared by the team.
