Smith Camps is a family-run outfitter located in the boreal forest of the Canadian Shield, occupying a bay in the northeast sector of Lake of the Woods, near Kenora, Ontario. This renowned waterway is home to many sought-after species such as walleye, smallmouth and largemouth bass, northern pike, muskellunge, yellow perch, crappie, whitefish, and lake trout, the latter accessible within a 40-minute boat ride. Accommodation consists of eight rustic lakeside cabins. Each unit includes an equipped kitchen, a full bathroom, linens, and towels. 3-bedroom cabin that is fully accessible to people with reduced mobility and features two bathrooms. For a more secluded stay, the outfitter also operates the Resolute Island Outpost, located on a private island. Guided excursions are offered by experienced guides, including the preparation of a fresh shore lunch on an island or sheltered in the main lodge. On-site services include a marina with a gas dock, live bait (minnows and worms), fishing gear, ice, and a boat launch, as well as a covered and screened-in fish cleaning station. A dock slip with electrical hookup for one boat is included with each cabin rental. The camp also features a beach area for swimming, canoes, and campfire pits.
