The outfitter
Sydney Lake Lodge is a fly-in only outfitter located in Northwestern Ontario, in the heart of the Canadian Shield and the boreal forest. The camp is situated at the junction of Woodland Caribou Provincial Park, the Pimachiowin Aki UNESCO World Heritage site, and the Trophy Waters conservation area. The outfitter provides access to two exclusive lakes, Sydney Lake and Kilburn Lake, offering over 320 kilometers of shoreline and more than 120 islands, all within a 25-minute boat ride from camp. The territory is renowned for sport fishing for Walleye (including a rare golden walleye variety), trophy Northern Pike, Lake Trout,

and Smallmouth Bass. A strict conservation policy requires the release of all trophy-sized specimens. The best period for Walleye quantity is in June, while July favors catching larger specimens. Northern Pike are particularly active from late June to mid-August. Lake Trout can be caught in shallow waters in late May and late September, or by jigging at depths of 55 feet in June and July. Accommodation consists of rustic pine waterfront cabins featuring fully equipped kitchens, screened-in porches, and gazebos. Services include daily cabin cleaning as well as daily refueling and boat preparation by the staff. The fleet includes Lund boats equipped with 25hp electric-start Yamaha motors, padded seats, landing nets, anchors, and safety equipment.
