Tamarack Island Wilderness Lodge occupies a three-acre wooded island in the Morson sector of the vast Lake of the Woods in northwestern Ontario. This island territory is distinguished by its peaceful shorelines and isolation, away from high-traffic water zones and the noise of motorized boats. The local geography consists of numerous bays, including Whitefish Bay, and surrounding wild lakes. Access to the territory varies by season: it is by boat during the summer, and by tracked vehicle or snowmobile over the ice in winter, with no maintained ice road.
