Established in 1959, it is a true wilderness stay, far away from civilization. The territory holds 45 private exclusive lakes across 65 square miles (165 km²), leased exclusively for more than 50 years, bordering the La Vérendrye wildlife reserve. You can fish four species — lake trout (with pink-to-red meat), northern pike (reaching 20 to 30 lb), speckled (brook) trout, and yellow and blue walleye — in various easily reachable lakes, all supplied with boats and motors at no extra charge.
Spring-fed Marion Lake is renowned for its lake trout and offers exceptional summer fishing. On the hunting side: spring black bear hunting (from the 2nd week of May to the end of June, 1 bear per hunter, over baited sites with tree stands) and fall moose hunting on private exclusive territory. Lodging is in about ten comfortable outpost camps (Marion, Arnot, Bapati, Caughlin Lake, Christian, Clement Lake, Hervi, Monic Lake, Pike Bay, Trap Lake), sleeping 4 to 10 people, several with running water, plumbing, an electric refrigerator, shower, inside toilet, outdoor BBQ, and fish fryer.
The history of Moose Territory Lodge dates back to its founding in 1959 by Gérard Bastein. Mr. Bastein managed and operated the outfitter for fifty years, developing this exclusive territory located on the edge of the La Vérendrye Reserve, accessible from Rapides-des-Joachims in the Outaouais region. In 2009, the business was purchased from its founder. Upon acquisition, the new management team, including Todd and Adam, undertook modernization work on existing structures and progressively added new outpost camps to the estate to enhance the guest experience. Under an exclusive lease for over fifty years, this 65-square-mile (165 square kilometers) territory with
45 private lakes has retained its original wild state. The outfitter carries on a tradition centered on sport fishing, as well as spring black bear hunting and fall moose hunting.

Located in the mountainous landscape of Quebec's Laurentians, bordering the La Vérendrye Wildlife Reserve, the estate offers a wild and preserved natural habitat consisting of dense forests, bays, and multiple water bodies fed by natural springs. The aquatic wildlife is home to four main fish species distributed throughout the territory: - Lake Trout (Touladi): A natural, non-stocked species with pink to red flesh, particularly prevalent in the deep, cold waters of Lake Marion. - Northern Pike: Found in lakes such as Marion, Rehel, and Leaf,
as well as in all walleye lakes. They average 6 to 8 pounds, with some specimens reaching between 20 and 30 pounds. - Walleye (Yellow and Blue): Highly abundant in six specific lakes: Cedar, Arnot, Coughlin, Legros, Bapatie, and Bonnie. - Brook Trout (Speckled Trout): Inhabits six distinct lakes, including Clair, Trappes, Travial, Gérard, Diane, and Monic, with an average weight of 2 to 5 pounds and catches sometimes reaching 7 to 8 pounds. Regarding land wildlife, this closed territory under exclusive management for over fifty years hosts a high density of black bears, largely undisturbed by human presence, as well as a moose population thriving in its natural environment.
Moose Territory Lodge offers sport fishing, hunting, and outdoor stays in the heart of the wilderness. Sport fishing takes place across a network of 45 exclusive lakes. Boats equipped with motors and fuel are provided to navigate the various water bodies. Some lakes are accessible via short five-minute portages, notably Lakes Cedar and Arnot, where boats and pontoons are stationed. Lake trout fishing continues throughout the season on Lake Marion, while brook trout is ideally fished from mid-May to late June. Walleye and northern pike fishing begins in June. A fish cleaning service is provided by the team at the
dock. Hunting is organized around two main activities: - Spring Black Bear Hunting: Running from mid-May to late June, using bow or rifle, it relies on dozens of baited sites equipped with tree stands. A combined bear hunting and fishing package is also available. - Fall Moose Hunting: Conducted on private territory exclusively assigned per group, with an adult tag quota for every four to six hunters. Access to hunting zones and assistance with game transportation are handled by the team. To facilitate travel or excursions, the outfitter offers ATV and side-by-side rentals to reach remote lakes. Accommodation is provided in ten cabins or outpost camps (Marion, Arnot, Bapati, Caughlin Lake, Christian, Clement Lake, Hervi, Monic Lake, Pike Bay, and Trap Lake), perfect for group or family stays, particularly at Camp Arnot, which features a sandy beach.
