This fishing lodge has everything you need. A grocery store and a couple of tackle shops are located just a mile and a half away for anything you might have forgotten. The cabins are nicely renovated and feature fully equipped kitchens with pots, pans, cutlery, plates, cups and a few cooking utensils. The beds are comfortable, with clean sheets and bathrooms. The owners host a fish fry dinner on Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. On the menu: fresh whitefish from Eagle Lake, potatoes, salad, dessert and much more. They are exceptional hosts, very friendly and always ready to advise you on the best fishing spots, where to launch your boat, and to fillet your fish (minimum size required). Gord is a master at filleting and his technique is simply remarkable. He removes the Y-bones from your pike and leaves you with beautiful fillets. The fish house is equipped with a freezer to preserve your catch. The Alumina Craft boats are equipped with 40 HP motors and are perfect for two people. They are also equipped with trolling motors and basic fish finders. Coolers are at your disposal for your catch on board, along with seat cushions, and you will also find minnows, leeches and worms. Your boat will be gassed up every night and ready to go the next morning. Minnow buckets are also available! Not to be missed! The sunrises over the bay are magnificent!

I have been going to Vermilion Bay Lodge for over 20 years. The fishing is excellent and the accommodations are quality. A fish fry dinner is offered to all lodge guests on Sunday. Your hosts, Gordy and Suzanne, will make sure you have an unforgettable stay. All the cabins are spotless and feature all modern conveniences. The boats are recent, high-performing models, equipped with 4-stroke engines, rod holders, a fish finder and a trolling motor. Not to mention fish cleaning, which is included! Bring your boat or rent the latest models. You will not be disappointed with your stay. 👍👍

We have been coming here since 2009. We haven't gone every year, but when we are there, it is always an exceptional stay. The cabins are modern and spotless. The docks are sturdy and well-maintained, as is the entire property. Live bait, fuel, and fishing services are also available. The boats and motors are new and work perfectly. The lodge offers many amenities, such as a wood-burning sauna, kayaks, and a great swimming pier. Plenty of board games are also available in this beautiful lodge. The traditional Sunday evening fish fry allows guests to meet and exchange fishing tips and techniques. Gord and Suzanne Bastable run the establishment and welcome you like family.

My family (my wife, my two teenagers, and my brother) spent a week at VBL in late August 2022. I have fished a lot in northern Wisconsin and Minnesota, and the fishing at Eagle Lake was two to three times better. We caught countless pike throughout the week, an 84 cm muskie, a 56 cm lake trout (from Clearwater Lake), and a good number of walleye (simply because we didn't use live bait). We stayed in a three-bedroom cabin (two single beds in each room) with one bathroom. The cabin was exceptionally clean and comfortable. It was nice to share a fish fry dinner on Sunday night and chat with the other guests. I imagine over 90% of the people there were regulars, and it's easy to see why. Gord always replied very quickly to my emails with kind and clear answers when I was booking. He fillets all the day's catch and is always available to answer questions. I can't wait to go back soon. My top tip for newcomers to VBL: get a map of the best spots on Eagle Lake and go for the upgraded boat package. Boats of that type are really nice and well worth the extra cost for a week.

My son and I spent a wonderful week at Vermillion Bay Lodge in late September. Our stay was fantastic and we have already booked for next year. Muskie fishing week was a lot of fun, and Gord and Susanne are exceptional hosts. Eagle Lake is beautiful and has plenty of fish. It's a big lake, so a GPS is recommended. Mike used his boat; the dock facilities were well thought out and electricity to charge his trolling motor was easily accessible. A great place for a fantastic stay.
