The outfitter
Viking Island Lodge is a fly-in outfitter located on Douglas Lake in the heart of Woodland Caribou Provincial Park, west of Red Lake, Ontario. Hosting a maximum of 30 guests per week, the lodge is family-run by the Boehms (James, Teresa, Jack, and Carson). The aquatic territory includes Douglas Lake as well as a network of nine portage-accessible lakes, including Onnie, Spider, Peterson, Page, Frank's, Hatchet, Caribou, Embryo, Anchor, and Foley lakes. Motor-equipped boats are stationed at each. Anglers primarily target walleye, northern pike, yellow perch, and lake trout. Canoe circuits are also a popular way to explore the area.
