Discover Bush Country Camp

The outfitter

Bush Country Camp (Camp des Grands Bois) is a fishing and hunting camp set on an island in Lake Sasseginaga, deep within the Kipawa wildlife reserve in Québec, with access to numerous other protected lakes. One island, 9 cabins and a sweeping lake. This wilderness region teems with walleye, lake trout and northern pike: walleye over 24 inches are caught and released every week, secluded bays hold trophy pike, and a nearby lake reached by a short portage is almost exclusively dedicated to pike. For hunters, the protected forest territory within the Kipawa ZEC supports healthy black bear and moose

populations. The 9 cabins are fully equipped (propane stoves, fridges, wood stoves for heat, cold running water and electricity), most with screened-in porches and a dock, and sleep from 4 to 16 people. Boats come with a 15-horsepower motor and the first tank of gas included; fish finders are available for rent, with freezers and ice on site. Choose self-catering or American-plan fishing packages (2 meals per day), a per-night couple-and-family package, or spring bear and fall moose hunts (bow in September, rifle in October).
