Auberge du Cap au Leste, located 200 meters above sea level on the heights of Sainte-Rose-du-Nord, overlooks the Saguenay Fjord and is situated near the Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park. The establishment is nestled in the heart of the Quebec boreal forest, a diverse natural environment composed of dense, mature woodlands. Local flora includes large spruce, fir, red maple, and yellow birch, complemented by wetlands and bodies of water such as Lac des Sables and Lac de la Roche, all bordered by towering rocky cliffs. This preserved habitat is home to diverse land and bird wildlife. More than 150 species of
birds nest in or pass through this area, particularly during the spring migration. Species observed along the trails include the pileated woodpecker in the spruce trees, the yellow-rumped warbler in the canopy, the American robin, the merlin soaring over the fjord, and the barred owl nesting in mature forests. Land wildlife notably includes moose, fox, and black bear. Le weekend dernier, 4 et 5 juillet, ma conjointe et moi soulignions notre 30ème anniversaire de mariage. Pour l'occasion, nous recherchions un emplacement vraiment spécial qui serait à la hauteur de cet événement très important pour notre couple. Notre choix s'est arrêté sur l'Auberge du Cap au Leste et nous pouvons certes déclarer que nous avons été ravis dès notre entrée à l'auberge jusqu'à notre départ. Le personnel à la réception de même que les membres de l'équipe de gestion de l'auberge ont été très courtois et avenant. Nous avions le forfait estival, donc une chambre avec balcon et une splendide vue sur le majestueux Fjord. Notre souper trois services était tout simplement à la fine pointe de la gastronomie, sans parler de l'excellent service de notre serveuse désignée. La carte des boissons était de bon goût et variée. Pour le déjeuner du lendemain, le buffet continental offrait une bonne sélection de fruits, fromages et viandes. Bref, pour nous qui étaient en quête d'un endroit calme, paisible et en pleine nature, nous avons été comblés. Cette auberge et les employés qui l'animent sont manifestemment un secret bien gardé à Ste-Rose-du-Nord qui vaut le détour pour en apprécier toutes ses beautés et ses atouts. Nous remercions nos hôtes de l'auberge et nous allons sûrement considérer une autre escapade à cet endroit dans des conditions hivernales. Merci !

Mémorable. L'emplacement a lui seul fait beaucoup, à la verticale du fjord du Saguenay, avec une vue époustouflante a 180 degrés. Mais le "domaine" est riche en promenades variées, les villas spacieuses et magnifiques, l'accueil chaleureux et pro a la fois. Une cerise sur ce gâteau ? Le menu fixe chaque jour, qui fait craindre le pire et réserve le meilleur, pour un tarif très raisonnable. On rêve déjà de revenir en plein hiver...

Emplacement extraordinaire, vue imprenable sur le fjord. Au niveau de la partie chambre: Pas de climatisation et ventilateur de plafond synchronisé avec la lampe de la chambre donc pas possible de dormir avec… Prestations plutôt basiques. A noter que dans Booking l’établissement met en avant sa piscine mais l’accès de celle ci est en supplément pour 20 dollars. Au niveau de la partie restauration: Menu unique imposé mais exceptionnel. Meilleur menu mangé au Québec en trois semaines.

Le lieux est magnifique avec une vue superbe sur le fjord. Toute l’équipe est très sympa et serviable. Le guide des redonnées et pêche avait beaucoup de connaissances, très interessant. Le cuisinier est hors pair: on a très très bien mangé. Les chambres sont petites, on était deux avec des valises et on ne pouvait plus circuler dans la chambre. Heureusement que nous n’étions pas trois… je ne sais pas comment on aurait fait! Sinon simple et propre. Pas très bien isolée du bruit des autres chambres non plus. Je trouve également exagéré de facturer l’accès au sauna/piscine… Et pour l’excellent menu du soir, il ne m’a pas du tout été préciser que dans le cadre des 3 plats (entrée, plat, dessert) chaque plat était facturé indépendamment… très limite.
