Camp La Lucarne (Opemica Lodge) is an Indigenous-owned outfitter, owned and operated by the Algonquin people of Wolf Lake First Nation, in the vacation village of Laniel in the Témiscamingue. The main lodge sits in a quiet bay of the legendary Lake Kipawa and welcomes nature- and adventure-loving families. The territory offers fishing (lake trout, walleye and northern pike, occasionally lake whitefish and perch), large- and small-game hunting (a no-exclusive-rights outfitter with maintained hunting sites), plus ATVing and snowmobiling on the Trans-Quebec #63 trail, hiking and lakeside relaxation. The establishment's history dates back to the 1950s, when the site was known as Maple Leaf Camp and owned by Ed Arbock. From the early 1960s until 1984, the estate became the Maple Leaf Lodge under the management of Carmel and Len Grace. Subsequently, the property passed through several successive owners, notably Ray Perrault, Dawn and Pete Anderson, as well as Doreen and Keith McDowell. The establishment occupies a peaceful bay on the shores of lac Kipawa, in the heart of Algonquin territory. Its location allows you to enjoy directly the vast waters of lac Kipawa as well as the area’s natural attractions, such as the Baie du Canal, the rivière du Nord and the rivière Kipawa. Pourvoirie Anishnabek is located on the shores of a bay on Lake Kipawa, in the municipality of Laniel in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, on the traditional territory of the Wolf Lake First Nation. The natural environment is defined by major bodies of water, including Lake Kipawa, Lake Ostabonigue, and Lake Témiscamingue, linked by the 16-kilometer course of the Kipawa River. The regional landscape features bays lined with rocky cliffs such as Canal Bay, steep rapids, and islands like Picnic Island, all in the immediate vicinity of Zec Kipawa and Opémican National Park. Pourvoirie Anishnabek offers a range of outdoor activities focused on hunting, fishing, boating, and wilderness getaways. For fishing, motorized watercraft (21-foot freight canoes, 16-foot aluminum or fiberglass boats), as well as 16-foot canoes, single or double kayaks, and paddleboards are available for rent. A fish cleaning station and maps of fishing holes are accessible to guests. Packages including cabin, boat, gas, and bait are offered.
