Pourvoirie Duhamel stretches across 166 km² north of the Monts-Valin, in the valley of Lac Duhamel (10 km long), fed by two large rivers — the Grande and the Petite Manouane — considered important natural spawning grounds. The territory holds about twenty lakes and offers fishing for five species: brook trout, walleye, pike, landlocked salmon and whitefish. On the hunting side, four territories of roughly 40 km² each are developed (salt licks, blinds, tree stands) for moose, black bear, small game and ptarmigan. Lodging in log cabins (European plan) perched at the junction of the two Manouane rivers, overlooking the
valley — Le Trappeur (couple/family, up to 4 people), Le Montagnais (groups of 6 and under), Le Vieux Camp and Le Pêcheur. In summer, descend the Manouane River by canoe-camping, kayak and SUP (in partnership with Saguenay Aventures), hiking, berry picking and ATV trails. Access to the cabins is by a short rowboat trip to cross the river.
Pourvoirie Duhamel developed in the heart of the wild territories north of the Monts-Valin, at the junction of the Grande Manouane and Petite Manouane rivers. The site's history is closely linked to the establishment of the first hunting and fishing infrastructure around Lake Duhamel. A witness to the estate's early days, the cottage named "Le Vieux Camp" dates back to the very beginning of the outfitter's operations and housed the first generations of visitors who came to explore the area. Over time, the estate was structured to cover an area of 166 square kilometers, encompassing some twenty lakes and two
major waterways. Careful herd management and land development have helped perpetuate the traditions of moose, black bear, and small game hunting, as well as multi-species fishing, keeping the outdoor vocation of this Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean establishment alive.

Pourvoirie Duhamel spans 166 square kilometers north of the Monts-Valin. This mountainous terrain is crisscrossed by numerous waterways that serve as observation corridors and essential wildlife habitats. The relief, combined with a high degree of plant diversity and forest regrowth from selective cutting, provides a rich and varied environment for land-based species. The hydrographic network includes some twenty lakes and two major rivers, the Grande Manouane and Petite Manouane, which flow into the Lake Duhamel valley, a body of water stretching over 10 kilometers. These rivers, characterized by waterfalls and sandy beaches, are recognized by biologists from the Ministère des
Ressources naturelles et de la Faune (MRNF) as important natural spawning grounds. Five fish species share these aquatic environments. Brook trout (speckled trout) frequent the cool, clear waters of the lakes, rivers, and streams, seeking out shaded areas. Walleye is widely represented throughout the various waterways. Northern pike and lake whitefish—the latter preferring deep, cold oligotrophic waters—complete the aquatic ecosystem along with landlocked salmon (ouananiche). Regarding land wildlife, the territory is home to moose and black bear populations. Small game is represented by ruffed grouse, spruce grouse, and snowshoe hare, while ptarmigan frequent the outfitter's northern reaches.
Pourvoirie Duhamel offers a range of activities centered on fishing, hunting, and outdoor recreation. Sport fishing takes place on Lake Duhamel, on the estate's twenty or so lakes, and on the Grande and Petite Manouane rivers. Anglers target brook trout, walleye, northern pike, landlocked salmon, and lake whitefish. Depending on the assigned bodies of water, access is by foot via hiking trails (approximately a 20-minute walk) or by vehicle and ATV. Motorboats equipped with engines, fuel, and life jackets are provided. For hunting, the estate is divided into four sectors of 40 square kilometers, equipped with blinds, salt licks, baited
tree stands, and maintained trails. Stays are dedicated to hunting moose (mid-September to mid-October), black bear (late May to late June, with guide services and cold room access), small game (grouse and hare from late October to mid-January), and ptarmigan (late October to early March). Geographic navigation across the territory can be done offline using the Avenza Maps app. In summer, vacationers can enjoy canoeing, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) on Lake Duhamel and along its sandy beaches. Canoe-camping trips on the Manouane River, either self-guided or guided with shuttle service, are offered in collaboration with Saguenay Aventures on 20 km or 60 km routes (leading as far as the Centrale de la Péribonka). Hiking, ATV touring, wildlife viewing, waterfall photography, and wild berry picking are also among the available activities.

Excellent expérience à la pourvoirie Duhamel . Alex et son équipe sont à l’attention du client & offre un accueil chaleureux. Les chalets sont clean et nettoyer adéquatement entre les clients nous en avons été même surpris arrivé du niveau de confort dans le millieu de nul part. Le Wifi avec Starlink est un beau plus et permet de garder un contact avec l’extérieur dans ce paradis de la chasse à l’ours. Les équipements pour la pêches sont très bien et les chaloupes sont flambant neuves et les moteurs très bien entretenus. Chapeau à toute l’équipe et à bientôt.
